AUBURNDALE RESULTS LADNER TOPS CENTRAL FLORIDA WINGLESS SPRINTS AT AUBURNDALE by Ken Sands
Johnny Gilbertson in the Blue Ribbon Farms/Seckman Fire Sprinklers #21 lead the 20 car starting field to the green on Saturday night in the Central Florida Wingless Sprint Car sponsored by Florida Suncoast Van Lines 35 lap main event at Auburndale Motor Speedway in Auburndale Florida, but it was current point leader Charlie Ladner in the Mac Steele Autocraft #0 who was sitting in victory lane at the end of the 35 lap battle, Ladner from his third starting spot wasted little time in taking over the top spot and hold off all challenges of Jimmy Alvis in his PEP sponsored #29T, Gilbertson held on for third, with Troy Decaire in the Dirt Devils Speedway #41 and Jimmy "JT" Thompson in the Jimmty T's Racing Transmissions #87 rounding out the top 5.

CFWSCA REGULAR BOBBY GORDON GETS 3rd in SCHOOL BUS FIGURE 8 Bobby Gordon , a regular in the #29 Sprint finished 3rd in the promoters/series challenge race at Charlotte County Speedway. Gordon who started in 11th on the field worked his way through the figure 8 course in the #45 School Bus with accuracy to come home with a third place finish and the best finish out of the series/promoters drivers racing. Art Calkins a many time champ in figure 8's at the now defunct Sunshine Speedway claimed the win over Scott Brown with Gordon coming home third, Glenn Smith finished 4th and Nick Fiorento from Citru County Speedway rounded out the top 5. Charlotte County promoter LeRoy Davidson finshed 10th with CFWSCA promoter Ken Sands getting credited with a 12th place finish.posted by carla at 12:28:29 PM |
